Seniors...please make sure that you get your senior lei which you will need for our senior recognition on May 3rd which was supposed to be the day of our Aloha Concert. It will be with your graduation packet. I will give you more information about the ceremony in the coming weeks.
Also, if any senior is using a school instrument, it must be returned by Tuesday, May 12. If it is in your locker please let me know but if you have it in your possession at home, please return it to me on Tuesday, May 12. I will be at the front of the school from 9:00 to 9:30 am. I have to submit your senior obligation forms so please take care of this ASAP. I still need pictures from the following seniors. Dear Parents, We hope this message finds you well! This is certainly an unusual and challenging year for everyone—especially for our high school seniors. Each year as part of the Aloha Concert program, Mr. Abe takes a moment to recognize each of the seniors in the orchestra and the band. This could not have been successful without all the volunteers that came out…from the “too early” morning volunteers to those who stayed longer and everyone in between. You are the glue that held us together…even with the occasional heavy showers and gusty winds (kudos to the sign wavers/distributors/grillers for working through it all). A huge round of applause to all those that donated corn and boxes for the fundraiser and for the water, food and coffee for our hungry volunteers. Special shout out to those that loaned us their grills, tents, tables, equipment to heat corn, containers to hold cooked food, and a “kitchen” sink. And, last but not least, a very special thank you to LikeLike Drive Inn for holding and delivering our steaks along with their container donation and KYM Bento, Sushi & Catering for their donation of rice which was cooked and delivered by them throughout the event. We are truly grateful to all of you and thank you for making this a successful fundraiser! Each student will receive a packet containing 5 steak plate tickets to sell. The cost is $10.00 per ticket. We anticipate to earn $5.00 from each ticket sold. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the music department. The net proceeds from this fundraiser will assist the Music Department in covering the costs for student transportation, equipment truck rentals, festival fees, new music, props, clinicians, & other unexpected expenses throughout the year. We have a meeting next Tuesday for incoming Marching Band students, followed by a presentation by Seawind Tours.
