Marching Band
The Roosevelt High School Marching Band and Color Guard established in 1970 fields 45 winds, 27 percussion and 23 color guard. Being a dedicated band or color guard member demands even more time upon an already exhausting schedule, but that just means that the students who do join are dedicated and put all their efforts into the band. The band has established itself as one of the top marching units in the state receiving superior ratings at local festivals and tournaments 13 times in the past 18 years. The band has also performed at the Tournament of Roses Parade, Portland Rose Festival Parade, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Ginza Parade in Tokyo, Japan, Midosuji Parade in Osaka, Japan, London New Years Day Parade, Klondike Days Festival in Alberta Canada, and was invited to represent the United States along with the Concord Blue Devils "B" Corps to perform at the World Marching Band Festival in Yokohama, Japan.
