Save May 10, 2014 for the 2014 Aloha Concert 5:30 pm at the Roosevelt High School Carter Auditorium. More information to come.
Marching Band Uniform Fitting will be on Sunday, March 9. Please report between 10:00 a.m. - NOON!
Roosevelt High School has been asked to help out by hosting one night of the Parade of Bands Tournament. Please parents, if any of you can help out on Wednesday, April 9 from approximately 4:30 pm (set-up) to 9:00 pm (clean-up), we could surely use the help! The tournament itself is from about 5:00 - 8:30 pm with the various bands moving in and out of various rooms to the auditorium.
Knowing the layout of our campus, we will need parents assisting the differnt bands by escorting them to and from the classrooms to the auditorium and back. We will also need parents checking groups in and monitoring doors. We may even need logistical help and monitoring of other areas of campus to ensure bags, instruments, etc. are not left unattended. IF YOU CAN HELP OUT IN APRIL, THERE WILL BE AN INFORMATIONAL, PLANNING AND ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR: Tuesday, February 18, 2014 6:30 pm in the RHS Music Building, D102 As mentioned at the Winter Concert, we will be having a GOLD and METAL Fundraiser. Bring your unwanted chains, jewelry, teeth, mis-matched earrings, silver spoons, coins, etc... Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm @ the RHS Bandroom It’s easy! Here’s how it works: • Bring your unwanted, broken or damaged gold, silver and platinum jewelry, coins, sterling silverware, dental gold, diamonds and fine watches. • Representatives from Hawaiian Precious Metals will test and assess the value of your item. • If you decide to sell, you will receive CASH on the spot! RSVP by December 13 to (808) 282-5854 Juli. (So they can bring enough people and scales and you don't have to wait!) Proceeds Benefit RHS Music Program & Students! Thank you to our student musicians and our two music teachers for a wonderful Winter Concert last night!
A very big MAHALO to our music parents and families for donating baked goods, chili, and andagi to the sales! The monies raised will surely help with the upcoming day camps, festival fees, and busses for both the orchestra and band students. Special thank yous to the fundraising committee, the music booster, and the parent volunteers for manning the concession sales and production of andagi, shaved ice, chili bowls, and fresh popcorn! We can't do it without all your help! "It takes an entire village to educate a child!" We are fortunate we belong to the same village! THANK YOU again!!! Congratulations to Jamie & Sarah!!! They were selected to perform with the Carnegie Hall Honors Series Orchestra. Off to New York in February.
