Both the Concert and Symphonic Bands were rated "SUPERIOR" at the OBDA Parade of Bands on April 9, 2014, held at the RHS Carter Auditorium! Way to go Rough Riders! A big THANK YOU to our music parents and orchestra students for volunteering to help out. The OBDA had only good things to say about the set up and hosting of the one day event!
Tonight, Roosevelt High School Music Department is hosting the OBDA Parade of Bands. 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm @ the RHS Carter Auditorium. Participating schools include: Washington Middle School, St. Louis High School, St. Andrew's Priory School and the Roosevelt Concert and Symphonic Bands. Good luck to all the bands performing tonight.
Reminder to all, there will be light refreshments sold for all students and parents who attend. Proceeds will support the Music Department. Roosevelt High School has been asked to help out by hosting one night of the Parade of Bands Tournament. Please parents, if any of you can help out on Wednesday, April 9 from approximately 4:30 pm (set-up) to 9:00 pm (clean-up), we could surely use the help! The tournament itself is from about 5:00 - 8:30 pm with the various bands moving in and out of various rooms to the auditorium.
Knowing the layout of our campus, we will need parents assisting the differnt bands by escorting them to and from the classrooms to the auditorium and back. We will also need parents checking groups in and monitoring doors. We may even need logistical help and monitoring of other areas of campus to ensure bags, instruments, etc. are not left unattended. IF YOU CAN HELP OUT IN APRIL, THERE WILL BE AN INFORMATIONAL, PLANNING AND ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR: Tuesday, February 18, 2014 6:30 pm in the RHS Music Building, D102 |
